The Itinerrance Gallery
Itinerrance is a street art gallery based in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. Founded in 2004 by Mehdi Ben Cheikh, the gallery offers an exhibition space to artists where classic hangings and original installations are mixed in an ever-changing scenography. Itinerrance stands out with its innovative approach to urban art. Since 2013, the gallery has initiated several projects Hors les murs (beyond the walls) on a city-wide scale.
Itinerrance, a contraction of Itinérance (itinerary) and errance (wandering), accompanies artists in their exploration of multiple techniques and mediums to take over the street through an artistic act, while appropriating the gallery space with their original works. With the will to federate and unite creators, institutions, the public and the city, Itinerrance aims to promote street art in all its diversity.
The Itinerrance gallery, always faithful to the 13th arrondissement, was inaugurated in its current form during the Earth Crisis exhibition by Shepard Fairey in 2016.
