HUSH

Like the great painters who have depicted the female subject throughout art history, Hush collaborates with models to create his paintings. For this exhibition, Hush unveils a cultural plurality in his work through multiple faces of models from Asia, America, Brazil, France, and England. Never directly looking at the viewer, these multi-ethnic subjects engage with the viewer solely through their poses, directing our gaze towards the graphic elements that adorn them. The artist thus creates a very poetic mise en abyme, unconsciously prompting the viewer to adopt the same posture as the observed subject.
